Hasty’s Adventure Farm Sustainability Timeline

At Hasty’s Adventure Farm, we’re passionate about sustainability and doing our part to protect the environment whilst still creating a fun, educational and nature-connected space for all who visit. Here’s our timeline of how we have been growing greener and greener every year.

Hedge Planting Begins - 2015

The hedge surrounding Hasty’s was planted in 2015. We planted a native hedge to promote biodiversity and provide natural habitats for our local wildlife.

More Trees Please - 2016

We planted trees around the tractor park to provide shade for visitors and in our animal enclosures to offer shade, shelter and environmental enrichment for our animals.

Nature Takes Root - 2017

We built a dedicated bug area and a bird feeding area. This is to encourage our local insects and birds to thrive.

Eco-Friendly Dining - 2018

We switched to using cardboard food trays for some of our hot food items, reducing single- use plastic waste on-site.

Wildflower Wonders - 2019

Wildflower areas were developed and nurtured. We encourage wildflower growth including a small area of stinging nettles as they support butterflies.

Growing quietly - 2020-2021

While not many public changes took place we used Covid as a time to start planning even more green improvements behind the scenes.

Cutting plastic waste - 2022

We completely phased out our plastic cutlery, replacing it with wooden alternatives to support sustainable consumption.

Compost innovation - 2023

We started using coffee grounds from our Kiosk coffee machine on plants and trees to boost growth naturally.

Even more trees please! - 2024

We planted more trees around the farm for an even greater biodiversity around the farm.

Recycling with purpose - 2025

We joined a local cardboard recycling scheme, meaning all the waste cardboard from Hasty’s now goes on to become other things. We also started shredding all our unwanted trail sheets and waste paper from our shop. We use the shreddings as bedding for our Guinea Pigs and Pig. This is giving waste a second life.

Ongoing sustainable features - 2025

In addition to our yearly initiatives, we at Hasty’s are always looking for creative and sustainable additions to our farm. Some of these include… Making some of our seasonable games out of reclaimed wood. We up cycle the best we can and use unwanted tyres in to a lot of our decorations around the farm.

We are always going to continue our ongoing planting of trees in enclosures and key areas in the farm.

Our green promise

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do here at Hasty’s. From the way we serve food to how we care for the land and our animals. We are committed to learning, improving and growing greener. We are very proud of how far we’ve come and we are very excited for what’s next as we continue to grow greener for our visitors, our community and for our planet!
