Hasty's Birthday Party Packages

Available at weekends either morning (10.30am-12.30pm) or afternoon (2pm-4pm)

Allergies are catered for, but must be made known to us at least a week before the party date.

Food is served in a buffet style and includes;

  • Sandwich platters - cheese, ham, jam
  • Crisps
  • Carrot and cucumber sticks
  • Jugs of squash and water
  • Ice cream (one pot per child, choice of flavours)

You are more than welcome to bring a birthday cake, or any other food items you would like to add.  Please note that this is at your own cost and you will be responsible for any allergy requirements.

 

What happens on the day? (example)

  • 10.25am - 10.45am Guests arrive and are told to meet at the teepee area.
  • 10.45am - Welcome by a member staff
  • 10.50am - Hasty's staff member to take the animal experience, this includes meeting and feeding the animals at Hasty's.
  • 11.30am- Children to have a free play with parents’ supervision.
  • 12.00pm - Food delivered to the teepee area by staff member.
  • 12.30 - Staff to clear up the teepee area.  Guests leave teepee area but are free to enjoy the rest of the Hasty's for the remainder of the day if they wish.
  • Hasty's closes at 5pm

 

School Groups

At Hasty's Adventure Farm we are able to offer school groups a wealth of resources, experiences and outdoor activities, allowing learners from age 2 – 18yrs to explore many areas of the National Curriculum within an inspiring, hands on ‘real life’ farming environment. Children will be encouraged to be curious and ask questions about what they notice through exploration and encounters between living things and familiar environments. From animals to micro habitats, nutrition and digestion to genetics and evolution.

A typical day's schedule will be:

  • 10.00am - Arrival and welcome to Hasty’s Adventure Farm. Take belongings to the Teepee area. Health and Safety talk. Snack Break. Split into groups of 15.
  • 10:20am - Group 1– Animal interaction with Hasty's staff. Group 2– Activity Trail (Caterpillar Trail) lead by schoolteachers and helpers, finding the information on the boards around Hasty’s.
  • 11:00am - Group 1– Activity Trail (Caterpillar Trail) lead by schoolteachers and helpers, finding the information on the boards around Hasty’s. Group 2– Animal interaction with Hasty’s staff.
  • 11:40am - Everyone meets back at Teepee area for Q & A about the morning.
  • 12 noon - Wash Hands. Lunch (provided by provided by parents/school). Play.
  • 1:00pm - Split into two groups. Group 1– Caterpillar story and fruit kebabs. Group 2– Free time to play.
  • 1:35pm - Group 1– Free time to play. Group 2– Caterpillar story and fruit kebabs.
  • 2pm - Everyone Collect belongings. Toilet break. Depart from Hasty’s.

We are now taking bookings for the April and May 2023 Spring Trails, as well as the June and July 2023 Summer Trails.

Key Stage 1 - The Hungry Caterpillar Trail

This covers many sections of the curriculum for Science, Maths, Geography, PSHE and Art & Design.

The trail focuses on the life cycle of a Butterfly.

The self-led trail is best done in small groups with an adult to help them get the best from the different environments the trail will take them to.

The afternoon activity is led by a Hastys Team member, who will take the children altogether and Read the Hungry Caterpillar story whist the children enjoy a fruit kebab using the same fruits that the caterpillar loves in the book.

Key Stage 1 - The Minibeast Ball Trail

This covers many sections of the curriculum for Science, maths, Geography, PSHE and Art & Design.

The Trail focuses on all types of native minibeast.

There are specifically designed trail boards for each educational trail which the children have to find and explore all around Hastys. The self-led trail is best done in small groups with an adults to help them get the best from the different environments the trail will take them to.

The afternoon activity involves making a small bug house for the children to take home for a garden or window box. It is made from a recycled drinks bottle which the children will fill with natural things found on the farm. This is followed by a themed story.

Key Stage 2 - Runaway Pancake Trail

This Trail covers many section of the curriculum for Science, Maths, Geography, History,and PSHE.

The trail involves finding information from around Hastys, on specifically designed boards for this trail. The exploring trail investigates all the ingredients required to make a Pancake.

The Hastys Team guided afternoon activity will be , helping to collect eggs from the chickens, grind wheat into flour, and discuss where milk comes from. We then whisk the ingredients together and fry up the pancakes.

Teachers

Teachers are responsible for the children in their group at ALL times. In terms of clothing, we recommend that all visitors come prepared for a farm visit, according to the weather conditions. Sturdy shoes or wellington boots, and waterproof jackets are a must when dealing with the unpredictable British weather!
