Our latest Little Farmers block took flight with a brand-new theme—all about birds! Across four
weeks of hands-on sessions, our youngest visitors (and their grown-ups!) got stuck into some
wild and wonderful activities, learning more about nature while enjoying all the usual farm fun.
Week 1 – Building Birdhouses
We kicked things off with hammers and nails as our toddlers helped build their very own
birdhouses. With a little help from the grown-ups, there were some seriously impressive
structures by the end—ready for our feathered friends to move in!
Week 2 – Decorating Time
Armed with paintbrushes and lots of brightly coloured paint, our Little Farmers transformed their
birdhouses into mini masterpieces. From bold stripes to careful colour-blocking (and plenty of
splodges in between), each birdhouse was totally unique. By the end of the morning, our picnic
benches were just as colourful as the creations themselves!
Week 3 – Bird Feeders
The children got stuck into making bird feeders using lard, seeds, and pinecones we found
around the farm. They were perfect for garden birds to enjoy alongside their new homes!
Week 4 – Bird Designing
To finish off the block, we designed and painted our own birds, taking inspiration from all the
birds we’d learnt about each week. We also had a very exciting visit from a tractor—and proudly
graduated with a shiny certificate!
Alongside the themed activities, each session included time with the animals and a weekly bird
hunt around the farm. We also enjoyed story time and plenty of biscuits! It was a full morning of
fun—and with entry included for the whole day, lots of families stayed on to enjoy the rest of the
farm too.
The next Little Farmers block is due to kick off in September—keep an eye on our
website and social pages for all the details. These sessions are always popular, so early
booking is very much recommended. We can’t wait to see you there!
